Early reports via sat phone from Golden Eagle in the Southern Lau group are just as you would expect an unfished paradise to be, INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Today (day 2 of fishing)

 

5 dogtooth tuna over 50kg caught on jigs

 

2 bigger dogtooth eaten by sharks

 

2 top of the range jig rods broken trying to stop the beasts

 

7 GT’s over 40 kg (weighed on IGFA certified scales before release) and some bigger ones lost

 

Plenty of smaller fish caught and released.

 

 I will try to post reports as they come in but due to the remoteness of the area pictures won’t be available until Golden Eagle returns next week.
